Good Friends, Cuteness, and James on the Road

tardis diaper
So cute!

Good news!  I heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time this past Thursday!  I was really worried, because the week before we had tried for quite a while, but couldn’t find the baby.  It turns out he or she is a little bit higher up than where they were looking, and I may possibly have an anterior placenta which makes it harder to hear the little bean.

In other news, in just ten days my home birth fund made it nearly half way to goal! I was completely floored by the kindness and generosity of my readers and friends!  One of those donations was a thousand dollars!  I am still so amazed by that donation.  But all of them, really, are wonderful and special and it means so much to me to have this help.

Oh! Speaking of generous friends, my friend Kymberlee sent me the cutest little diaper cover, with a TARDIS embroidered on the butt!  It’s baby#5’s very first prezzie, and I am squeeing over both the cuteness and the Doctor Who fangirlness of having this for the baby!   Thanks again Kymberlee!!!

The last two weeks have been kind of nuts while we gathered everything together to get James back on the road.  I spent all of last week driving to and from Joplin several times a day, eating crappy fast food and waiting waiting for James to get issued a truck.  I gained my first weight of this pregnancy -five pounds- because of all the crap I ate. I miss him, but I am glad he is back at a job where we will have the security and stability of a decent income.  The last several months have been quite a struggle, because the pub didn’t quite meet up with our expectations and needs.

So we are a trucking family again, but I feel like I’ve gained some perspective and I’m looking at life with a husband on the road a little differently now. I am trying to maintain a positive outlook, and looking forward to his home time.

  1. I’m a long-time lurker of your site but I wanted you to know that after following all the stress and struggles you’ve had I’m glad things are on a more positive path at this time. You deserve to be content in the moment. I love your blog and what you share. Keep up the good work.

  2. You know we wish you all the best. I’m sorry that the pub didn’t live up to the dream, but it is a good thing that James was able to return to his former job. I’m sure it will help lift a lot of stress from your shoulders (which we all know you don’t need right now).

Call if there is anything we can help with. You’re less than 2 hours from us.
