Cooper has decided that there isn’t enough of me to go around. I’m his momma. And that is all. He gets so angry when Willow tries to cuddle with me. He pushes and scratches at her. He screeches and pulls her hair. It is kind of funny. I sometimes think she chooses to cuddle with me just to provoke him. Which I completely understand. She is a picker and a poker- an instigator. I’m quite proud. She gets it from me. My mother used to get so mad because I was always pushing my brothers’ buttons. It is one of many interesting and not quite awesome qualities Willow has inherited from me- and they are much cuter on her.
This is kind of new to me. Or maybe I’ve just blocked out the sibling rivalry between toddler Patrick and baby Willow.
So mommies… I have a question. Have you ever had to deal with sibling jealousy with your littles? (As in both wanting mommy’s attention- and even fighting over the space in mommy’s lap) How did you handle it?

We just talk about taking turns … which works better for my 2 1/2 yr old than my 9 month old.
I can’t offer any suggestions at this time, but I can suggest an explanation: he’s at the 12mo separation anxiety stage, so he wants all mama, all the time, no sharing.
