Rockin Green Soap Rocks!
I’ve started getting offers for free stuff if I do reviews, but I don’t review products on my blog. I have no interest in monetizing this site and I don’t advertise at all except for a few friends that I think need props for their awesome stuff. I have a blog because I love to write and it makes me happy to know that so many people enjoy it when I do. I want to write books that actually get published (oh please! I hope this happens someday!) and this is my way of practicing my craft every day.
So *if* I talk about a product, you can rest assured it is something I want to share with you because I LOVE it.

Today I want to talk about Rockin Green Soap.
We use clothdiapers on our babies. I love them for all sorts of reasons, but there is just nothing cuter than a little clothdiapered bum.
See? Totally Cute.
I have FOUR children. One of which was exclusively in disposable diapers. The other babies wore ‘sposies occasionally. I bought the expensive brands, the ones that offer “anti leak locking blah blah blah technology” and EVERY time they would leak. There would be poo-splosions. I would have to carry several changes of clothing whenever we left the house. And then there are the rashes. In cloth we do not have these problems.
I also love that we aren’t throwing them away. Our landfills are CLOGGED with 7.6 billion pounds of diapers a year discarded in the U.S. alone. It feels good to know we aren’t contributing to the overfilled and cluttered landfills. We use cloth towels, napkins, and tissues. We compost, recycle everything recyclable, and freecycle what we can. Why on earth would we then want to throw disposable diaper chemical filled plastic poop bombs into our trash?
A friend recently sent me a big box of diapers after her daughter graduated to the potty (can I just say I adore my twitter friends?) and even though they smelled and looked clean I decided to “rock a soak” on them. I wanted to show you what the soaking water looks like on seemingly “clean” diapers.
This is thirty minutes after I set them to soak.
To Rock a Soak:
1. ) Fill your washer with hot water and 3 Tbsp* of Rockin’ Green, along with your diapers.
2. ) Let it soak for approximately 30-60 minutes. Then launder as usual, skipping the soap.
*If you have soft water, you may need less detergent than that indicated. So start with 1 tbs, and go up from there as needed.
Rocking a soak is a great way to get residue and “funk” out of your diapers. I originally switched to Rockin Green because Cooper’s clothdiapers were getting stinky. I had gotten lackadaisical when adding soap to the wash. I had begun eyeballing the measurements and just dumping it in… And within few cycles there was stink aplenty.
We’ve been using Rockin Green Soap for over six months now, and it is the ONLY soap I will use on our clothdiapers. I’ve tried others, and there isn’t really a comparison. I even use it around the house- I’ve have it mixed with water in a spray bottle because it is fantastic for getting stains out of my carpets. I also use the “Shake it up” diaper pail freshener. I sprinkle it in our diaper pail and our trash cans.
I love that RG is free of dyes, enzymes, whiteners and brighteners. So you know that it is safe for all diapers. The scented version does contain natural fragrances- but there is an unscented one as well. I love the scents they use… My favorite is “Rage Against the Raspberries”. All of the scents are very light- we don’t use perfumed personal or cleaning products in our home, so we have become very sensitive to smells, and no one has a problem with this soap.
The Giveaway:
Rockin Green Soap has generously offered to give a 45/90 load bag of detergent in the winner’s choice of scent/formula!

If you decided to follow me on twitter, facebook, rss feed, or share this post with your friends that would be super cool (because it makes me happy when people read my blog and my stats go up) but it isn’t necessary to win the giveaway.

Hi Sharon,
My all time favorite diapers are Bumgenius One size diapers… They are seriously awesome and easy to use. I have been using the same diapers since Cooper was two months old and they still look new!
